Title: Finding part time job... Post by: key on Monday, 16, July, 09:21 I've been finding a part time job for quite a long time without any result. :'(

Post by: Dave on Monday, 16, July, 09:55 Finding part time work is hard in Australia if you speak English as a second language. I hate admit it but there is a lot of prejudice out there. Things have gotten harder since the employment service shut down.
I suggest that you apply for a night fill job stacking shelves in a supermarket. It isn’t glamorous work but it pays well enough and it is not too hard a job to get. :) Title: Re: Finding part time job... Post by: Cometgurl (Quiz Mistress) on Monday, 16, July, 10:57 I remember that I worked pretty hard to get my first job. In the end I got a job making pizzas in a cheapo pizza place (pedro’s). Once you have worked (in Australia) I think it is easier to find more work.
I agree with Dave though, late night refilling supermarket shelfs is probably the easiest job to get. Here is the Woolworths and Coles job websites to get you started http://www.wowcareers.com.au/wowcareers/woolworths/home/ http://www.colesgroup.com.au/Careers/ Title: Re: Finding part time job... It is a shame that there is not some service that could help businesses connect with university students seeking work :PTitle: Re: Finding part time job... Post by: chip on Thursday, 19, July, 11:43 Things have gotten harder since the employment service shut down. You're definitely behind the eightball if your English isn't good... But AFAIK the employment service is still running, albeit with a name change - I used them yesterday. They tend to advertise hospitality/service industry jobs, and tutoring for high school students. Tutoring high school students isn't that hard, and the money is good :) Title: Re: Finding part time job... Post by: key on Friday, 20, July, 12:31 Hey "The Martyr "
